Help us hold HCA accountable!
RECLAIM HEALTHCARE WNC is a coalition of physicians, nurses, elected officials, clergy, attorneys, business leaders, and community members.
HCA's corporate culture and decision-making have negatively affected patient safety and the quality of care at Mission Hospital, eroding the pride and trust once held by our community. Despite repeated appeals from the community and frontline hospital staff, HCA leadership has consistently ignored the urgent need to invest in restoring what has been lost.
In 2025, Mission Hospital was again placed in “Immediate Jeopardy” status by federal regulators. This is the third “Immediate Jeopardy” we are aware of since the sale to HCA in 2019.
Immediate Jeopardy citations of WNC hospitals owned by HCA:
- Mission Hospital (Asheville) - 2021, 2024, 2025
- Blue Ridge Regional Hospital (Spruce Pine) - 2023
- Mission Hospital McDowell (Marion) - 2021
HCA is experiencing record breaking corporate profits. At what cost to our region?
